Information

Today is World Hypertension Day. There are 245 million people with high blood pressure in China. Hypertension is still the most common cardiovascular disease and an important risk factor for stroke and coronary heart disease.

However, some people still have misunderstandings about hypertension, the "silent killer". They even believe that the faster and lower the blood pressure drops, the better for the body.

In fact, stable blood pressure can make people have good blood circulation, which helps to protect the functions of target organs such as the heart, brain, kidneys, and blood vessels. Both high blood pressure and low blood pressure have certain effects on the body.

Ganoderma lucidum does not blindly lower blood pressure but regulates blood pressure. People with various blood pressure conditions can benefit from taking Ganoderma lucidum.

In 1985, a clinical report published in Yakugaku Zasshi (Japanese for Pharmaceutical Science Journal) showed us the unique benefits of Ganoderma lucidum on regulating blood pressure.

In the experiment, 40 patients with essential hypertension and 13 patients with normal or high blood pressure took Ganoderma lucidum every day. Patients with essential hypertension continued to take antihypertensive drugs, lipid-lowering drugs, and cardiovascular drugs at the same time.

After 6 months, it was found that about 60% of the subjects had reduced systolic and diastolic blood pressure due to the intervention of Ganoderma lucidum, and no one had increased blood pressure (Figure 2); but in the normal or high blood pressure group, there was no change in the majority—77% had no change in systolic blood pressure, and 62% had no change in diastolic blood pressure—even if there was a drop, the drop amplitude was relatively small, and there was even a slight increase in blood pressure in one or two cases (Figure 3).

Based on the above results, it can be concluded that the effect of Ganoderma lucidum on blood pressure is not simply a decrease but rather a gradual restoration of systolic and diastolic blood pressure to normal through regulation. Therefore, people with various blood pressure conditions can use Reishi for a long time with peace of mind.

Ganoderma lucidum has long been used to control high blood pressure.

The protective effect of Ganoderma lucidum on heart and blood vessels has been recorded since ancient times. Compendium of Materia Medica records that Ganoderma lucidum "removes pathogenic factors congealing in the chest and reinforces heart qi", which means that Ganoderma lucidum enters the heart meridian and can promote the circulation of qi and blood.

Today, the medical community has also done a lot of clinical research on the effect of Ganoderma lucidum on the treatment of hyperlipidemia and hypertension. Overall, the symptoms such as high cholesterol, high triglycerides, and high blood pressure in 50% to 80% of patients have significantly improved after 1-6 months of treatment.

Why can Ganoderma lucidum lower blood pressure?

On the one hand, Ganoderma lucidum polysaccharides can protect the endothelial cells of the blood vessel wall and allow the blood vessels to relax in time. On the other hand, Ganoderma lucidum can inhibit the activity of "angiotensin converting enzyme". This enzyme secreted by the kidneys constricts blood vessels and causes blood pressure to rise while Ganoderma lucidum can regulate its activity.

In addition, when used in combination with conventional antihypertensive drugs, Ganoderma lucidum has a synergistic effect, making blood pressure easier to control. However, it should be noted that antihypertensive drugs should not be taken together with Reishi products, and the interval between taking them should be more than 1 to 2 hours.

The effective prevention and control of hypertension by Ganoderma lucidum is based on "safety". By following doctors' advice, regularly monitoring blood pressure, and improving your lifestyle, supplemented with Ganoderma lucidum for gentle regulation, your blood pressure will benefit greatly!
