Information

Today, Reishi mushroom spore oil, known as the soft gold for liver protection, is increasingly popular among health enthusiasts, and its market sales continue to reach new highs.

But what exactly is Ganoderma lucidum spore oil? Why does it have a magical liver-protecting effect? Who is suitable to eat it? How to eat it?

Next, let us delve into the secrets of this popular star in the nourishing world.

What is Ganoderma lucidum spore oil?

When Ganoderma lucidum matures, it ejects an oval reproductive cell called Ganoderma lucidum spore from the bottom of its cap. Ganoderma lucidum spore oil is contained within these spores. It is a lipid-active substance, usually a light yellow transparent liquid, rich in various active ingredients such as triterpenoid ganoderic acids and unsaturated fatty acids. It can be said to be the essence of Ganoderma lucidum.

The process of purifying and extracting spore oil is extremely challenging, which is why spore oil has earned the nickname liquid gold.

Where does the term soft gold for liver protection come from?

Shen Nong's Herbal Classic records that Ganoderma lucidum can brighten the eyes, supplement the liver qi, and calm the spirit.

Over 5000 years ago, ancient Chinese medical scholars recognized the benefits of Ganoderma lucidum on the liver, giving rise to the saying Ganoderma lucidum supplements liver qi. Today, numerous pharmacological studies have confirmed the effectiveness of Ganoderma lucidum in replenishing liver qi.

A 2016 pharmacological study published in the journal Edible Fungi of China demonstrated that a compound preparation of Ganoderma lucidum spore oil extract, administered at low (0.167g/kg), medium (0.333g/kg), and high (1.00g/kg) doses, could reduce the TG content in liver tissue and MDA content in the medium dose group of mice with acute liver injury. These experimental results confirm that the compound preparation of Ganoderma lucidum spore oil extract has a protective effect on acute alcoholic liver injury .[1]

Why is Ganoderma lucidum effective in protecting the liver?

Triterpenoids extracted from the fruiting body of Ganoderma lucidum are important components of its liver-protecting effects. In addition to their significant protective effects against chemical liver injury caused by CCl4 and D-galactosamine, they also have significant protective effects against immune liver injury caused by Bacillus Calmette-Guérin (BCG) plus lipopolysaccharide (LPS).  Excerpt from page 101 of the second edition of “Lingzhi: From Mystery to Science written by Lin Zhibin.

Overall, Ganoderma lucidum mainly protects the liver by means of antioxidant protection of liver cells, improving symptoms of liver inflammation, inhibiting liver fibrosis, reducing fat accumulation in the liver, and enhancing the liver’s detoxification ability.  Excerpted from pages 142-143 of the first edition of “Healing with Ganoderma” written by Wu Tingyao.

How to choose spore oil?

 ✦

1. Find out the extraction method used by the manufacturer.

The extraction of spore oil can be achieved through various methods, including supercritical CO2 extraction, molecular distillation, and solvent extraction. Among these methods, supercritical CO2 extraction is particularly advantageous because it does not leave behind any chemical residues.

 ✦

2. Find out whether the patented technology is used in the production process of the product.

The patented technology of on-line fractional purification involves extracting different components of spore oil in stages, allowing for the separation of oil and impurities on the production line, preventing oxidation, and resulting in a higher purity product.

 ✦

3. Find out the triterpene content in the product.

Ganoderma lucidum triterpenes are unique active ingredients found in Ganoderma lucidum, which have a wide range of pharmacological effects.

 ✦

4. Observe the color, taste the flavor, and smell the odor of the product.

High-quality Ganoderma lucidum spore oil is a golden yellow oily liquid at room temperature, with a faint sweet fragrance unique to Ganoderma lucidum spores in both its taste and odor.

GanoHerb’s Ganoderma lucidum spore oil perfectly meets the above four criteria.

GanoHerb uses its patented on-line fractional purification technology to obtain spore oil with higher purity and more stable active ingredients. Its Ganoderma lucidum triterpene content is ≥20%, which can effectively assist in protecting against chemical liver injury and enhancing immunity.

GanoHerb uses patented technologies such as low-temperature physical sporoderm-breaking and supercritical CO2 extraction to achieve high-concentration of the essence of Ganoderma lucidum.

GanoHerb’s Ganoderma lucidum Spore Oil Softgel has been featured multiple times on CCTV, spreading the company’s philosophy of carefully manufacturing products for consumers to use with peace of mind to a wider audience.
