Representatives from famous medication institutions and research centers attended the proseminar, among which including Prof Lin Zhibing from Peking University Health Science Center; Prof Hu Jizhi from Fujian Xianzhilou Biological Science & Technology Co., Ltd.; researcher Hong Zhen from Institute of Materia Medica, Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences and Peking Union Medical College; Prof Chen Ruoyun from the Institute of Materia Mediea of the Chinese Academy of Medical Science; researcher Guo Shunxing from The Institute of Medicinal Plant Development (IMPLAD) affiliated with the Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences; Prof Pan Yang from Nanjing University of Chinese Medicine (NJUCM); Prof Xie Baogui from Fujian Edible and Medicine Fungi Germplasm Sharing Platform of Fujian Agriculture and Forestry University; Director Lin Shengqing from Fujian Center for Disease Control & Prevention; Researcher Lin Shuqiang from Fujian Institute Medical Sciences; Senior Agronomist Chen Xiujuan from Fuzhou Mushroom Office; and representatives from Fujian Provincial Bureau of Quality and Technical Supervision.
The members of the Standardization Administration were unanimous in Fujian Xianzhilou Biological Science & Technology Co., Ltd. being appointed to publish the national standard of Ganoderma lucidum spore powder.

The Committee thought that establishing the national standard of Ganoderma lucidum spore powder is of great signality to quality control of the production and deep processing of edible fungi. Regarding to the uneven quality of edible and medical fungi, the members suggested raising the national standard of Ganoderma lucidum spore powder step by step, to standardize the domestic market. The “melamine-gate” reminded people the importance of standardized regulation. The Committee indicated that the standardization of Ganoderma lucidum extract, if finished, would be another contribution.
Subjects discussed in the proseminar include the test methods and national standard of breakage rate of Ganoderma lucidum spore powder, and content of Ganoderma lucidum polysaccharides, Ganoderma lucidum triterpenoids, germanium and chromium. The test methods of selenium won’t be stated in the national standard. Members affirmed that shell-broken spore powder is easier to be absorbed and this conclusion should be stated in the national standard. That shell-broken Ganoderma lucidum spore powder is easier to be absorbed was also agreed to be stated in the national standard. XIANZHILOU would work on to finish the detailed research and establishment of this national standard.
