On February 7, 2025, the Xiamen city supply-to-Xiamen food safety group standard "Food for Xiamen — Ganoderma," formulated with the participation of GanoHerb, was officially released, announcing the implementation of the highest Ganoderma food safety and quality standard in the industry.

This standard aligns with both domestic and international high standards, making it the highest and most stringent standard in the industry!

This standard was spearheaded by Xiamen Food and Drug Quality Inspection Institute and jointly developed with Fujian Xianzhilou Biological Science and Technology Co., Ltd. and GanoHerb Technology (Fujian) Corporation, serving as primary technical research units.

This standard stipulates the requirements for the raw materials, sensory characteristics, physicochemical indicators, pollutant limits, mycotoxin limits, pesticide residue limits, microbiological indicators, labeling, packaging, and consumption methods of Ganoderma for supply to Xiamen. Notably, it is the first domestic standard to comprehensively regulate and set requirements for  pesticide residue limits in Ganoderma, with stricter requirements than the national standard GB 2763.

In terms of physicochemical indicators, the triterpene index was referenced from the "Pharmacopoeia of China" and the "United States Pharmacopeia." It utilizes high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) and ultra-high-performance liquid chromatography (UHPLC) multi-evaluation methods to quantitatively analyze triterpenes in Ganoderma. This is the first time this index and testing method have been included in the food safety and quality requirements for Ganoderma.

This standard references the "Hong Kong Chinese Medicinal Materials Standards" and for the first time, incorporates the limits for aflatoxin B1 and total aflatoxins as control indicators for Ganoderma food safety and quality.

Since 2020, the Xiamen Food Safety Office has guided the Xiamen Food Safety Work Association to establish a food standard system for supply to Xiamen, covering the entire "farm to table" chain. With quality standards that are stricter than the national standards, supply-to-Xiamen food ensures the "safety on the tip of Xiamen residents' tongues." Over 140 food safety group standards for supply to Xiamen have been released and implemented.

The "Food for Xiamen — Ganoderma" food safety group standard, developed with the participation of GanoHerb, relies on Fujian's rich Ganoderma germplasm resources and cultivation promotion practices, while taking into account the specific conditions in Xiamen. With quality standards stricter than the national norms, it regulates the production and quality control of relevant companies in the Ganoderma industry. This standard will provide food safety assurance from farm to table and has a positive significance in promoting the healthy development of the industry.

The release and implementation of this standard marks an important milestone in the development of the Ganoderma industry.
