We often say, "A person's lifespan is linked to their arteries," highlighting the importance of vascular health.

According to the "Report on Nutrition and Chronic Disease Status of Chinese Residents (2020)," over 80% of individuals over 40 in China are affected by hypertension, hyperglycemia, and hyperlipidemia.

As we age, combined with the accumulation of unhealthy daily habits, our blood vessels can become increasingly narrow.

Some unconscious habits in our daily lives can accelerate fat deposition, thickening blood vessel walls and causing blockages. Let's take a look at which habits you might not be aware of!

1. Frequent Anger

Research has shown that even short periods of anger can negatively impact the cardiovascular system, damaging endothelial cells and impairing vascular dilation function, which is the basis for plaque formation and vessel blockage.

Moreover, anger increases the risk of various cardiovascular diseases, including stroke, arrhythmia, and myocardial infarction.

Health Tip: Stay away from people or situations that make you angry!

2. Neglecting Blood Pressure Control

Data shows that currently, 27.5% of residents over 18 in China have hypertension, meaning nearly 3 out of 10 people are affected. However, many are either unaware or do not prioritize management.

Excessively high blood pressure can damage blood vessels, lead to plaque deposition, and cause the vessel walls to harden and thicken, resulting in increasingly narrow vessels.

Note: There are no obvious symptoms until blood vessels are 90% blocked!

3. Consuming Too Much Bad Fat

Saturated fats and trans fats are more likely to harm blood vessels and lead to blockages.

It is advisable to reduce the intake of fast food, snacks, and various fried foods. Instead, opt for white meats such as chicken, duck, and fish, while limiting red meats like pork, beef, and lamb, especially fatty cuts.

4. Using Smoking as a Stress Reliever

Stress already affects vascular health, and using smoking as a means to cope may only provide a temporary sense of relief. In reality, tobacco contains over 200 harmful substances that can damage the inner walls of blood vessels and accelerate thrombosis, further increasing the "pressure" on the vessels.

5. Frequent Exposure to Noise

Noise has been shown to increase the incidence of cardiovascular diseases such as hypertension, myocardial infarction, and stroke.

Consider using earplugs while sleeping or relocating to a quieter area away from construction sites—these are effective methods to reduce noise exposure.

The "Guidelines for Primary Prevention of Cardiovascular Diseases in China" outlines six core aspects of vascular health: lifestyle intervention, risk assessment, aspirin use, lipid management, blood pressure management, and blood sugar management.

Building on this foundation, adding Reishi mushroom supplementation might yield unexpected benefits.

Reishi mushroom helps to improve blood lipid health. The sooner you eat it, the sooner you will benefit.

The "Shen Nong Ben Cao Jing" records that Reishi "treats chest congestion, benefits heart energy, and tonifies the center," indicating that Reishi can enter the heart meridian and promote the circulation of qi and blood.

"Modern medical research has confirmed that Reishi can lower blood pressure by inhibiting the sympathetic nervous system and protecting endothelial cells, as well as alleviating myocardial hypertrophy caused by cardiac overload.

—Excerpted from Lin Zhibin's "Pharmacology and Clinical Applications of Reishi," p. 86.

Reishi contains various active ingedients, including polysaccharides, triterpenoids, sterols, amino acids, and proteins. It is the interaction of these active ingredients that enables Reishi to exhibit effects such as lowering blood lipids, antioxidant activity, and anti-inflammatory properties.

Research on Reishi and blood lipid health has been ongoing in recent years, with various studies indicating that Reishi offers multiple benefits for vascular health. The earlier you start taking Reishi, the sooner you can reap its benefits.

Prevention and treatment of cardiovascular diseases also require physical activity. Take things slowly and maintain a calm mindset. Daily diet should follow the principles of low salt, low sugar, low fat, and more fruits and vegetables. Complement this with Reishi supplementation, and your blood vessels will be in good condition.
