“ On the 15th day of the first lunar month, we eat yuanxiao, symbolizing family reunion and happiness. Wouldn't adding reishi mushroom—whose name carries meanings of goodness and auspiciousness—to the yuanxiao further enhance the festive atmosphere? The snow-white outer layer of the tangyuan is paired with a dark-colored spore powder filling, complemented by a refreshing osmanthus-flavored broth, creating a perfect blend of nutrition and deliciousness! ”
Ingredients
| GanoHerb Broken-wall Ganoderma Lucidum Spore Powder | 5 grams |
| Glutinous rice flour | 200 grams |
| Black sesame | 30 grams |
| Red bean | Moderate amount |
| Sweet Osmanthus Honey | Moderate amount |
How to do it
1. First, crush the sesame seeds and place them in a bowl. Add reishi spore powder, sugar, and a small amount of oil, then mix thoroughly to prepare the sesame filling for later use.

2. Take a clean, large bowl and pour in the glutinous rice flour.

3. Gently use your fingers to make a small hole in the center of the bowl, then slowly pour in some lukewarm water. Use chopsticks to stir the glutinous rice flour, and then add an appropriate amount of oil to bring the flour together into a smooth dough.

4. Pinch the well-kneaded dough into small pieces, each about the size of a one-yuan coin, and shape them into tiny balls. Fill each ball with a mixture of reishi spore powder and sesame seeds, then carefully seal the openings and roll them into smooth spheres. Once all the balls are prepared, place them on a work surface dusted with cornstarch for later use.

5. Turn on the heat and place the pot on the stove. Add water to the pot, then simmer the red beans and white sugar together. Bring to a boil over high heat, then reduce to medium heat and simmer for 15 minutes. Next, carefully drop the prepared yuanxiao dumplings into the boiling red bean broth and continue cooking until the dumplings float to the surface. Once cooked, remove them from the pot, ladle into bowls, and drizzle with sweet osmanthus syrup before serving.

Cooking Tips
2. When kneading the dough, to make the glutinous rice balls more chewy and smooth, we can add some starch powder.
3. We added a small amount of sweet osmanthus syrup to the finished tangyuan, making them even more fragrant and delicious. This addition also helps moisten the lungs, generate body fluids, and relieve coughs. Feel free to adjust the amount according to your personal preference.
