Don’t be sad—let me make you a bowl of noodles.

“ This was a standard line in early TVB dramas—proof that a bowl of noodles, beyond just filling your stomach, can also bring you peace of mind. In early spring, when March brings fluctuating temperatures—sometimes warm, sometimes chilly—there’s nothing quite like a bowl of reishi mushroom, tomato, and beef noodles. The chewy, smooth noodles paired with the steaming hot reishi-mushroom beef broth offer a fresh, fragrant, and delightfully satisfying taste that lingers long after you’ve finished eating. This dish nourishes the liver and strengthens the spleen. A comforting bowl of reishi-mushroom, tomato, and beef noodles warms not only your stomach but also your heart, replenishing your energy and reviving a weary body! ”

Ingredients

GanoHerb Organic Purple Reishi Tablets 10 grams
Beef brisket 300 grams
Tomato 1 unit
Shiitake mushroom Several
Noodles Moderate amount
Sichuan pepper Moderate amount
Star anise Moderate amount
Scallions, ginger Moderate amount
Cooking wine Moderate amount

How to do it

1.       Cut the beef brisket into chunks and set aside. Then, slice the green onions into segments and the ginger into slices, and set them aside as well. Also, cut the tomatoes into chunks and set them aside.

2.       Take a cooking pot, place the sliced scallions, ginger slices, and organic purple reishi mushroom slices from GanoHerb into the pot, then add the prepared beef brisket chunks. Finally, add a small amount of Sichuan peppercorns, star anise, and cooking wine. Pour in some warm water, cover the pot, and bring to a boil over high heat.

3.       After the water boils, add the chopped tomatoes and shiitake mushrooms, then continue to simmer for about 40 minutes until the beef brisket becomes tender and fall-apart. Season with an appropriate amount of salt and chicken powder according to your personal taste. Place the strained noodles into a bowl, pour the prepared reishi mushroom beef broth over the noodles, and finally arrange the ingredients from the pot on top of the noodles.

Cooking Tips

1. Adding salt when cooking noodles can prevent them from sticking together and also make them more elastic and chewy.
2. The Zhi Zi tablets can also be replaced with spore powder. Simply add the spore powder to the prepared beef broth and stir well to make Lingzhi Beef Soup. After cooking the noodles until tender, remove them from the pot and place them directly into the soup.
