On August 19, the General Party Branch and the Labor Union of Fuzhou High-tech Zone Gaotou Holding Development Group (Gaotou Group) organized an event for employees and their children at GanoHerb Group. Themed "Nurturing Family Virtues on Qixi to Drive Forward Progress," this Joint Party Day & Parent-Child Study Tour focused on family virtue education. Participants celebrated a meaningful Qixi Festival through an exploration of Reishi-related culture and science.

▲ Watching a Qixi science popularization video

▲ Touring the Reishi Science Museum

Guided by staff members, the children entered the Reishi Science Museum with curiosity and anticipation. Combining scientific research displays, cultural dissemination, and popular science education, the museum uses physical specimens and interactive multimedia to help children explore the transition from traditional legends to scientific understanding.

▲ Children attentively learning about Reishi science

Specimens of varying shapes and vivid growth-environment simulations opened the children's eyes. Shifting from "listening to stories" to "acquiring knowledge," they truly felt the scientific knowledge related to Reishi research.

▲ Visiting Professor Lin Zhibin's Reishi Academic Achievement Hall

Inside Professor Lin Zhibin's Reishi Academic Achievement Hall, yellowed academic manuscripts and experimental records were quietly displayed. Listening to Professor Lin's half-century journey of scientific research, the children asked curious questions: "Why did Grandpa Lin study Reishi?" "How many times does this experiment need to be repeated?" The scientist’s dedication and perseverance quietly planted seeds of rigorous academic pursuit in their young hearts.

▲ Showcase of finished crafts

Following the tour, the children participated in a hands-on workshop making DIY Reishi picture frames. Since ancient times, Reishi has long been recognized as part of traditional cultural heritage and symbolism, harmonizing with the Qixi tradition of praying for happiness and harmony. Using their imagination, the children skillfully combined Reishi specimens with decorative elements to frame and preserve both their warm parent-child moments and memories of the Reishi-themed educational experience.

Family is life's first classroom, and family virtues form a vital part of social culture. This event seamlessly blended traditional cultural education with scientific exploration, allowing children to appreciate the depth of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) culture while planting seeds of truth-seeking, pragmatic science in their minds.

As the Ganoderma Science Branch of the Fujian Science and Technology Museum and the Reishi Knowledge Branch of the Fuzhou Science and Technology Museum, GanoHerb will continue to leverage its platform strengths. In the future, it plans to host more diverse youth study tours to pass down the spark of science from generation to generation, introducing more families to the history, culture, and scientific exploration of TCM.
